It gives me great pleasure to be here with you on the occasion of the annual prize distribution ceremony. This is a proud moment for 60 students who have worked hard through the year and are being rewarded today. It is also a proud moment for the parents of these students who have also strived with their children. All these 60 students are receiving gold medals today. Six of them have won rolling trophies and a cash prize of Rs 10,000 each.

Education is the key to success in today's world. Without a degree you are handicapped and will find it difficult to get a job anywhere. With the global marketplace opening up, in the years ahead, you will find more opportunities both in India and across the world. But, to tap this huge opportunity you need a degree. I have noticed an unfortunate trend. Many young boys give up education mid-way to join their family business. Some even give up education mid-way to start an enterprise of their own. This will not stand you in good stead in the long run. In today's global village, you need education. It is more than just a degree. It moulds your character and is a catalyst to all-round development. Whether you carry on your family business or start a new venture, education is a basis on which you build your future. Do all you want to do after your graduation. Education builds discipline and shapes your personality.

I am heartened to note that increasingly, girls are continuing with their education. We cannot progress with half the section lagging behind. I hope even more girls pursue their education, Educating a girl is like educating the whole household.

I noticed that the number of boys in college is lower than the number of girls. I urge the boys to pursue education with commitment and dedication. Students who need counselling and help can always approach my team and me.

I also urge you to help the lesser privileged to get an education. Those who have been blessed with enough to help others should do so. Education is the best gift you can give to anybody. It is a gift that keeps growing and paying rich dividends through a life time. As is said, "teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime".

Along with education, you also need to work on your physical fitness. You need a strong body to carry out your dreams. It is also important to have a strong mind that is free from all negative thoughts. Work on all-round development and cultivate an Islamic way of life.

I would like to conclude with these words of our Prophet (SallallaHu Alai Hi Wa Sallam), "Seek Knowledge as far As China". Follow these wise words and do all you need to so you get an education.

I thank each and every one of our Lady members for having taken out the time from their busy schedule to help us with this program.

I am sure you are all waiting for the prize ceremony. All the best to those who are receiving these tokens of appreciation today. I wish you all a brilliant future.
